MIMA is the oldest digital marketing group in the nation
Minneapolis, October 2, 2017: Celebrating its 16th year, the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association is proud to present their annual digital marketing Summit held on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at the Downtown Minneapolis Hilton. MIMA is the nation’s eldest digital marketing group and has been inspiring and educating Minnesota digital marketers since 2001. This year’s Summit will continue with the tradition of bringing hundreds of digital marketers and thought leaders together while inspiring and connecting the vibrant Twin Cities interactive marketing community.
“We have such a robust and talented marketing community here in the Twin Cities,” said Ryan Arnholt, president of MIMA. “Each year this talented community assembles for a day of learning and sharing. And I’m particularly excited about this year. The amount of creativity, design thinking and brainy marketing prowess we will have together on October 12 is on par with any other community in the country. We can’t wait to host our 16th annual Summit.”
MIMA’s annual marketing Summit is designed around talented industry keynote speakers and series of breakout sessions. This year, three keynote speakers from a variety of industries and backgrounds will be featured throughout the day.
The morning keynote is a discussion featuring United Nations Executive Director, UN Women and Global Head of HeForSheInitiative Elizabeth Nyamayaro. She will be joined by KARE 11’s Jana Shortal . This thought-provoking discussion will be focused on Using Social Platforms To Make An Actual Difference. Attendees will spend their lunch hour being enlightened by Morgan Spurlock, Academy Award-Nominated Director of the documentary Super Size Me and host of CNN’s Inside Man. Rounding out the day’s event is author and cultural critic, Chuck Klosterman. In this keynote, based on his new book But What If We’re Wrong?, Klosterman visualizes the contemporary world as it will appear to those who’ll perceive it as the distant past.
“Our keynotes are diverse, fascinating and super smart,” said Arnholt. “Elizabeth, Morgan and Chuck each have an area of expertise and thinking that will challenge all marketers in attendance. We are honored to introduce them to our talented marketing community here in the Midwest.”
Breakout sessions include speakers from some of the top companies and brands in the nation. Look for industry leaders from Minnesota companies like Red Wing Shoes, Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP, the Minnesota Vikings, Surly Brewing, Carmichel Lynch Relate and U.S. Bank.
In today’s ever-changing, fast-paced marketing world, the traditional marketer knows and understands the importance of digital marketing. The MIMA annual Summit is the perfect opportunity for professionals to learn from industry leaders how digital marketing has transformed their organizations and influenced strategy that increases engagement, sales, and brand-awareness.
